God will guard you from the evil one
Facing the spiritual battle
Finally, dear brothers and sisters, I ask you to pray for us. Pray first that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you. Pray, too, that we will be saved from wicked and evil people, for not everyone believes in the Lord. But the Lord is faithful; he will make you strong and guard you from the evil one.… May the Lord bring you into an ever deeper understanding of the love of God and the endurance that comes from Christ.
In order to be effective on the battlefield a soldier must be both well trained and properly equipped. The warrior must be alert for surprise attacks. So it is in our spiritual battle with Satan. Determined to destroy our faith by leading us into sin and discouragement, Satan attacks with blatant temptation and deceptive lies. The Bible teaches that the best weapons for this warfare are the Word of God and prayer.
The faith of the Thessalonian believers was being tried by persecution. Undoubtedly some of them were wavering, even failing, as the surrounding evil put them to the test. This was an important time for Paul to remind them that, no matter what happened, God’s faithfulness would prevail over evil and strengthen them so that they could endure.
Dear Kind, Most Gracious Heavenly Father

LORD, thank you for allowing me to be your CHILD. Let my message be honest and true. Help me to encourage others and to go out of my way to speak a kind word. Forgive me for times when I have spoken without thinking. Let me live in such a way that my words and actions represent you so that my message may be one of love and hope. Lord, you gave your only SON….You gave him for me…Oh Lord you are so mighty, I fear your power but embrace your sweet mercy. Thank you Lord for your blessings on me! AMEN

Do you realize there are prayers God will not hear? First, lets look at prayer for a moment. I have been convicted in my life because of the foolishness in the way I have prayed in the past. How many times do we pray and then within 2 min forget entirely what we have prayed? How often do we pray for the sake of prayer…because it is expected? What do we normally pray about? Most times it revolves around someones health, or job, or family problem. I find myself that I am more apt to pray when I am in a pickle than when things are going well. Now, I know we are to present all our requests to God, but that does not mean God hears them (and by hears them I mean receives them and is willing to respond). The instruction to present everything to God assumes we approach God properly..which we often do not. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6 not to pray like a hypocrite or pagan.
Hypocrites pray with others as their audience, not God. The Pharisees prayed so people would see them pray and not because God hears. Jesus said they will receive no reward from their prayers because they already got what they are looking for. Is that the case with us? Do we get what we asked for the moment we pray (fulfill an obligation, go through a motion, show others we pray, gossip, calm our nerves) or are we really looking for the Living God to move his hand in response? How often do our prayers sound like calls on a psychic hot line? General, vague, unexpectant and easily forgotten? Do we really pray as though the Holy One is listening? Are we willing to persevere or is our prayer a religious hurdle?
James says that you do not receive because you ask with wrong motives (James 4:3). Did you know that God doesn’t hear when you ask for stuff that is not his will? Now, let me take a moment on this because this is an important issue. Gods will is not an ambiguous or shifty thing. I do not believe it revolves around where you live, what job you have or what you are to eat for lunch. Scripturally, if you look up God’s will you will find it is almost always in relation to things like how you live, rather than where you live. Character is more important to God than particular decisions (unless they are moral choices). Now certainly God wanted people to make particular decisions in Scripture, but God always made that clear to them. I dont think we have to worry if God wants us to move to another place that we will somehow not be able to discern his will on the matter. No, God’s will is your sanctification (being made holy or righteous) 1 Thess. 4:3. So praying for God’s will to be done is to pray for goodness, holiness and righteousness to prevail..and that starts with the person praying for God’s will to be done. So, I ask you…what do you pray for? Is it for your glory, your comfort, your kingdom…or Gods? Are we willing to endure loss and difficulty that God’s name be hallowed, his kingdom advanced and his will be accomplished in our lives? I think there is a reason Jesus teaches his disciples to start their prayers, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.” God’s glory..that should be the thrust of our prayers and lives. Yes, God cares about our lives, but there are bigger things going on in the world and if we cannot see past our own agenda, we should not expect God to bless our prayers. Do we pray as if God is stupid or deaf? Are we trying to wear God out to get our way or do we approach one who already knows what we need before we ask?
Finally, God does not answer prayers that come from incongruent lives. Jesus said, if you do not forgive others their sins, God will not forgive yours. In sum, dont ask God for that which you will not give to someone else. We should be able to ask God to deal with us as we have dealt with others. 1 Peter 3:7 says that God will not hear the prayers of men who mistreat their wives. James 5 says that the prayers of a righteous man availeth much. God does not hear you if your life does not match your words. Now that is not to say we are to be perfect…of course not. But we should be ready to try to make things right with others before we expect God to make things right with us. Interesting that our prayers must begin before we get to our closets. We must determine that as we need forgiveness, so we must first strive to be gracious and kind to others just as we want God to do for us.
So here are prayers God will not hear. 1) Prayers that do not really focus on him as the sole audience. 2) Prayers that are self-seeking and neglect his knowledge and greatness. 3) Prayers that are double-minded or inconsistent with the person who prays them.
If you want to have God hear you…pray to him and only him. Don’t use your prayer to advise or teach someone else in the prayer group, to gossip, to look religious or to just go through the motions with mindless babble. If you want to have God hear you seek his glory above your own and his plan above your pleasures. Lets go to God as undeserving servants, not as greedy dictators. If you want to have God hear you go to him as someone who is striving to do for others as you want him to do for you. Dont be cruel, greedy, unkind, and unforgiving and expect for God to treat you with love, mercy, grace and acceptance. Christs blood has given us an amazing gift to go before the Holy One with all our petitions and problems, but let us not abuse this gift. Pray to God as though he is God to you. Pray for me that I may do this as well.
The Prayer of Protection to be prayed each morning

Lord, I take the helmet of salvation and the breastplate of righteousness, my waist belted with truth, my feet are covered with the gospel of peace. I take the sword of of the Spirit and the shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the devil
Lord, I pray that you station around me(and my family, friends) guardian angels, war angels, and ministering angels, that these angels would be above us, below us, in front of us, and beside us as a hedge of protection against the enemy so that enemy cannot break through and harm us.
Because of this declaration, Father, I now bind Satan, demons, evil spirits, fallen angels and people in the following ways– I bind them to total inactivity and silence by and through the name, the power, and the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
They cannot be on or around my property, or office, under any authority, any administration, any object, any person, any situation with any sin, or anything given to me. They cannot follow me around or attach themselves to any object or person so as to be able to travel around with me or plague me.
They cannot send me infirmities, sickness, diseases, illnesses, or addictions of the body or mind, neither can they inflame any infirmities, sicknesses, diseases, or addictions that we have or have had.
Neither can Satan, demons, evil spirits, fallen angels or people bother (our) finances through people, the monetary systems or machinery.
They cannot speak to (us) or touch (us) personally, nor can they use people to speak to (us) for them, neither can they empower people to work the works of the flesh against me successfully, neither can people from their own sin work the works of the flesh against me successfully, according to that which is found in the Holy Scriptures (Romans, 1&2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, James, 1&2 Peter, and Revelation.) So, I bind all that I have just pronounced to total inactivity and total silence by and through the name, the power, and the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I ask in your name Lord, that Your glory would be my rear guard. I pray that I would be under the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night. I also ask that I would have all wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, power and strength of the Holy Spirit as I volunteer myself to Your kingdom work today. This I ask to be granted in the name of my Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen
What a busy day

Today was like any other day. I could hear the birds chirping outside my window. They seemed to chirp a little earlier and a tad bit louder than usual. I thought long and hard before saying to myself “Oh well better get up.” I thought I should go ahead and boot up my computer to see if I had any activity on “O What a Savior website”……..Nothing? I thought maybe there is an email from someone………Nothing? Should this have been a blessing to me? I always tell people if they have any problems just send me a message. I guess I let too much get in the way…You see God put this in my heart…..God wants me to tell the world about his son Jesus Christ. He wants me to tell how Jesus died on the cross….so that we might live…….I let the excitement of two days before spoil me into thinking everyone would visit the site……just like they did two days before…..well the numbers were not good yesterday…and I was sad.
About this time….I could hear little feet running toward my door….it was Chandler. “Daddy Daddy” he exclaimed what you doing? I said nothing much….did you sleep well? Chandler replied….yeah let’s look at motorcycles daddy….and that turned into….”Daddy Daddy lets go to the mailbox…..I want to drive (3yrs old is Chandler)….and then we somehow ended up with a loaf of bread near a pond feeding some ducks. Finally after swimming in a little pool I bought for him at the local wal-mart…he has gone to sleep for his evening nap! I know he better get lots of sleep…because I don’t want him cranky at my brother’s wedding rehearsal tonight. So now the house is quiet…and my mind has come back to….this website…again…and again…”GOD what do you want me to do”….”GOD show me how you want me to do it”…”GOD I know you put this on me because you knew I could do it”. I just know this will take off and people will come….My biggest battle is with Google….If I can make it to the top of Google page rank…then the whole world will see….
LORD….People tell me….you are trying to do too much….to fast…..
Well Lord….I know there is not much time…..this is a lost and dying world…full of sin….full of sinners
Help me Lord…
Amen
Please everyone I need your prayers
